Job description
About the Company
This role sits within a long-established and thriving events and media production business operating from Abney Park in Cheadle, South Manchester. The company works across large-scale international events and develops creative digital media content, with a strong focus on the healthcare sector.
Role Overview
An opportunity is available for a Junior AV Technician to become part of the technical team supporting live, virtual, and hybrid event delivery. This is a full-time position based in the office.
What You Will Do
In this role, you will help manage both event-specific and internal audio-visual equipment. Typical work will include preparing and packing down equipment, carrying out testing and maintenance, and updating the internal stock booking system. As you grow in the position, you will also assist with event delivery on location across the UK and internationally.
Skills and Experience Needed
The team is looking for someone with strong communication and people skills, since you will work closely with project teams to make sure the technical side of events is fully supported. Some prior exposure to audio-visual equipment, lighting, and related event technology is essential. The role also requires flexibility, as extra hours and work outside normal schedules may sometimes be necessary. Familiarity with common office software such as Word, Excel, and Outlook would be an advantage, and holding a full clean UK driving licence would be beneficial.
Benefits
Joining the business is presented as the start of a long-term career rather than just a short-term job. Many employees have progressed and developed within the company, and the organisation is keen to bring in new AV talent and support their growth.
Application Notes
Applicants should submit a CV along with a cover letter that includes their approximate salary expectations. No agencies should apply. Before starting employment, successful candidates must be able to show proof of their legal right to work in the UK. A privacy notice is also available for review.
