Job description
About the agency
eight&four is a social-first, end-to-end content production agency that partners with ambitious international brands in entertainment, gaming, and culture. Since 2008, the team has combined digital-first creativity with channel know-how to produce work designed to perform. The company is values-led and places a strong emphasis on supporting its people, with fast progression, leading benefits, and a workplace culture that has been recognised repeatedly as one of Campaign’s Best Places to Work.
The role
The studio is hiring a Junior 2D/3D Motion Creative to join its growing motion team. You will work alongside Motion Designers, Creatives, and Video Editors on social-led and campaign-driven projects, with a particular focus on mobile gaming. This is a great opportunity for someone at the start of their career who is enthusiastic about 3D motion and character animation in Blender, while also being ready to build confidence in 2D motion design.
You will develop your skills across both 2D and 3D workflows, improving your speed, creative judgement, and overall craft in a busy studio setting.
Key responsibilities
- Produce 3D motion content in Blender, especially character animation, modelling, scene construction, and texturing.
- Contribute to projects that blend 3D, 2D motion, and graphic design.
- Create animations for social-first deliverables, paid media, and short-form storytelling.
- Work from storyboards and creative direction while also adding ideas and practical solutions.
- Partner closely with designers, animators, and producers throughout the production process.
- Adapt work for different platforms, formats, and audience needs.
- Respond constructively to feedback and refine work to a high standard.
Required experience and skills
- Strong practical knowledge of Blender, with a clear interest in character animation.
- Ability to create or modify 2D motion pieces in After Effects.
- Working familiarity with the Adobe Creative Suite.
- Good understanding of design principles, including layout, typography, colour, composition, and visual hierarchy.
- Solid grasp of animation fundamentals such as timing, easing, weight, and clarity.
- A portfolio that demonstrates both creative promise and technical ability.
- Genuine interest in gaming, animation, and social or creative trends.
- Positive, collaborative mindset and willingness to learn.
Preferred skills
- Experience rigging characters, or a strong desire to develop that skill.
- Basic knowledge of social formats and digital-first content.
- Interest in sound, editing, or storytelling.
- Exposure to other 3D tools such as Cinema 4D or Maya.
What will help you succeed
- Curiosity, ambition, and motivation to grow across both 2D and 3D work.
- Comfort with asking questions and learning from feedback.
- Good organisation and the ability to manage time with support.
- Enthusiasm for fast-moving creative environments and teamwork.
- Strong interest in games, animation, and motion design.
Benefits
- Recognition as one of Campaign Magazine’s Best Places to Work for eight consecutive years.
- Hybrid working arrangement with two days in the office each week; the office is near Goodge Street Tube station.
- Private healthcare, life insurance, and 25 days of holiday plus additional leave.
- Team mini-breaks in the UK and abroad, along with regular social events.
- An open, engaged, and inspirational culture.
