Role Overview

This position focuses on creating a consistently positive customer experience while supporting store operations, merchandising standards, and loss prevention practices. The associate is also expected to work across multiple store areas as business needs shift.

Customer Experience

• Demonstrate the REACH approach by making customer happiness a priority in every interaction.
• Contribute to a welcoming store atmosphere and support the company’s green culture efforts.
• Encourage customers to participate in TJX Rewards credit and loyalty programs.
• Provide coverage and support for the front end, dressing room, and jewelry areas when needed.

Human Resources and Workplace Conduct

• Maintain a workplace culture built on honesty, respect, and integrity.
• Communicate clearly and accurately with managers and fellow associates.
• Be open to praise as well as constructive direction.
• Follow labor regulations and associate meal and break policies.

Store Operations

• Help keep the sales floor, associate areas, and other store spaces clean, organized, and recovered.
• Operate and maintain floor-care equipment such as scrubbers and buffers while meeting cleanliness standards.
• Prepare and move merchandise to the sales floor using Door to Floor and Working Smart processes.
• Follow front-end procedures, including ringing rules and operational controls for voids, refunds, and related tasks.
• Reconcile register drawers and/or cash office responsibilities as assigned.
• Ensure returned items are tagged, hung, and sent back to the sales floor quickly.

Merchandising

• Support the company’s merchandising approach and keep signage standards up to date.
• Work with the Merchandise Coordinator to build attractive product features and adjust the sales floor as needed.
• Tag, hang, secure, and code merchandise correctly.
• Assist with store recovery activities when required.

Loss Prevention and Safety

• Take part in shrink reduction efforts and loss prevention programs.
• Follow company operational controls and safety guidelines at all times.
• Report warning signs and possible safety concerns to management or loss prevention right away.
• Do not physically pursue or apprehend suspected shoplifters.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
