Role summary
Dexterra is hiring a dependable, quality-focused Cleaner for the Westin Ottawa. This is an overnight onsite position, with working hours from 10:30 PM to 4:30 AM. The role is centered on maintaining clean, presentable guest and facility areas and supporting a high standard of customer experience.
Key duties
- Wipe or dust check-in counters and clear waste from counter bins
- Clean marks from walls, partitions, switches, doors, and window ledges
- Polish chrome and other shiny metal finishes
- Clean partition glass that can be reached from a standing position
- Remove dust from baseboards and low vents
- Wet mop small hard-surface areas
- Carry out vacuuming when requested
- Clean around and beneath toilets and urinals

Candidate profile
- Previous floor-care experience is helpful, though not mandatory
- Ability to scrub, buff, and polish floors is an advantage
- Experience with stripping and waxing floors is considered a plus
- Comfort using cleaning machines and equipment
- Able to speak and interact professionally with supervisors, clients, and the public
- Positive mindset and a strong work ethic
- Capable of lifting up to 25 lbs
- WHMIS certification is required, although training may be provided
- A clean criminal record check is mandatory
