Role Overview

KDG Construction Consulting is looking for a driven IT Support Specialist to act as the first point of contact for technical issues in a busy, fast-moving business setting. The position focuses on resolving hardware, software, network, and system problems, assisting with employee joiner/mover/leaver tasks, and closing incidents promptly while maintaining a high standard of customer service.

The right candidate will bring solid troubleshooting ability, hands-on experience with enterprise IT environments, and the communication skills needed to work comfortably with both technical teams and non-technical staff.

What You’ll Do

  • Handle incoming help desk requests professionally and promptly through email and ticketing tools.
  • Use established troubleshooting methods to identify and fix issues related to hardware, software, network connectivity, and system performance.
  • Review, record, and monitor production incidents and outages, including assessing urgency, business impact, and escalation needs.
  • Create, update, and close service requests and incident records in Freshdesk, ServiceNow, and similar systems.
  • Support employee onboarding and offboarding by setting up accounts, distributing equipment, and managing access permissions.
  • Install, upgrade, and configure hardware, software, and workstation environments.
  • Assist with workstation rollouts, office moves, and technology setups across multiple locations.
  • Provide technical assistance for internal meetings, company events, and special projects.
  • Lead computer orientation sessions for new hires and deliver practical training to department staff when needed.
  • Explain technical matters clearly to employees, leadership, and other team members.
  • Keep thorough records of support work, system adjustments, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Help maintain IT inventory and track technology assets.

Required Experience and Skills

  • Background in help desk, desktop support, or general IT support roles.
  • Strong troubleshooting knowledge for PC hardware, including motherboards, power supplies, memory, storage, and peripheral devices.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Windows 10 and Windows 11 environments.
  • Hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 apps such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and OneDrive.
  • Ability to diagnose basic network issues, including LAN/WAN connectivity, Wi‑Fi, VPN access, IP configuration, and switch/router fundamentals.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical topics for non-technical users.
  • Good organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and provide regular status updates.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Comfortable working independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Self-directed, solution-oriented, and focused on delivering results.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft certifications, ITIL, or comparable credentials.
  • Previous experience with ServiceNow, Freshdesk, or other IT service management tools.
  • Exposure to data migration, data coordination, or system conversion initiatives.
  • Experience with enterprise hardware deployments and office relocations.
  • Familiarity with user account administration, software licensing, and endpoint management platforms.
