About the Role
The Metal Workshop is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented IT Support Officer to join our expanding team. This entry-level/junior position is ideal for individuals eager to launch their career in information technology. You will be responsible for providing essential technical assistance to employees, ensuring the seamless operation of all hardware, software, and IT infrastructure. Key Responsibilities
- Deliver initial technical assistance for issues related to hardware, software, and network connectivity.
- Address IT support requests received through phone, email, ticketing systems, or in-person interactions.
- Set up, configure, and maintain computer systems, printers, and other IT hardware.
- Aid in the creation of user accounts, managing password resets, and controlling access permissions.
- Diagnose and resolve technical problems efficiently and professionally.
- Refer more complex issues to senior IT staff when needed.
- Keep detailed and accurate records of all support requests, their resolutions, and system updates.
- Provide support for software installations, updates, and regular system maintenance tasks.
- Contribute to the implementation of IT policies, procedures, and security best practices.
Requirements
- Possess foundational knowledge of computer hardware, software, and operating systems.
- Be familiar with Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, and common business applications.
- A basic understanding of networking principles is advantageous.
- Demonstrate strong capabilities in problem-solving and troubleshooting.
- Exhibit excellent communication and customer service skills.
