Jefferies is seeking an Investment Banking Associate for its Technology, Media and Telecom-related advisory practice in San Francisco. This role is designed for an ambitious professional who wants to contribute meaningfully to Jefferies’ growing technology investment banking platform while building practical experience in M&A, Equity Capital Markets, and Leveraged Finance for leading technology businesses. Associates work closely with live transactions, interact with clients, and operate on lean deal teams in a hands-on environment.
Key responsibilities
- Provide direct support to senior bankers throughout transaction due diligence and execution workstreams.
- Prepare and help deliver marketing presentations, new business pitches, confidential offering materials, and management presentation decks.
- Build target lists of potential acquirers, investors, and strategic counterparties.
- Carry out detailed industry research and analyze market and sector trends.
- Develop advanced financial models and perform valuation analysis.
- Coach and support analysts as part of the execution team.
Candidate profile
- A bachelor’s degree with a strong academic track record is required.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in investment banking transaction advisory or execution is expected.
- The ideal candidate is highly driven, self-assured, and enthusiastic about the role.
- Applicants should either already live in San Francisco or be open to relocating there.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation abilities are essential.
- The person should be able to work autonomously and consistently deliver against demanding deadlines.
Preferred experience
- Experience supporting equity financing, sell-side, buy-side, and broader advisory M&A mandates in a technology-focused investment banking environment is preferred.
- Ability to build pitch content and support business development efforts.
- Experience coordinating or reviewing due diligence processes is an advantage.
Compensation
The annual base compensation for this position is stated as $150,000 to $200,000.
