Job description
About the Opportunity
This role is with a mid-market private equity fund based in Munich, focused on growth capital and buyout investments across DACH countries and broader Europe. The position is centered on sourcing opportunities, evaluating transactions, and supporting portfolio companies in sectors such as industrials, consumer, healthcare, and technology. The location benefits from Munich’s strong base in technology and manufacturing.
What You’ll Do
- Identify and originate proprietary investment opportunities by building relationships, attending industry events, and reaching out directly to founders and mid-cap business owners.
- Carry out transaction diligence, including detailed financial models such as LBO and DCF analyses, as well as commercial and operational reviews.
- Draft investment committees materials, support negotiations, and help structure deals including leveraged buyouts and growth equity investments.
- Work closely with co-investors, external advisors, and company leadership across roughly 5 to 10 active transactions each year.
Profile and Qualifications
- Between 1 and 5 years of experience in private equity, a top-tier investment bank, an elite boutique advisory firm, or strategy consulting at a leading firm such as MBB.
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Finance, Business, or Economics is expected; progress toward CFA is considered an advantage.
- Advanced Excel modelling skills and familiarity with tools like DealEdge, PitchBook, or S&P Capital IQ.
- Professional fluency in both German and English, along with a proactive, entrepreneurial approach.
- Solid capability in financial modelling and commercial due diligence, or strong potential to learn these skills quickly.
