Job description
About the role
InnoVen Capital is a leading venture debt and growth credit provider in Southeast Asia, supported by UOB and Temasek. The firm backs fast-growing technology businesses across the region with financing designed to support expansion without forcing founders into equity dilution. This role offers an early-career path into private credit and venture finance, with hands-on learning from senior investors and exposure to live transactions from the first day.
Role overview
As an Investment Associate, you will play an active part in the SEA investment team’s workflow. The position covers origination support, detailed due diligence, credit documentation, and ongoing portfolio monitoring. You will work alongside experienced investment professionals and be involved across the entire deal cycle. Progression from Associate level onward will depend on performance and the quality of your deal contributions.
Key responsibilities
You will help assess transactions, support credit analysis, and contribute to portfolio oversight. The work also includes research, investor materials, and internal process improvements.
- Assist senior colleagues throughout the investment process, starting from screening and financial analysis through to credit committee preparation.
- Create and review financial models, including revenue forecasts, cash runway assessments, and loan repayment scenarios, and pressure-test assumptions.
- Carry out qualitative research on potential borrowers, including review of business models, competitive landscape, investor backing, and market size.
- Prepare investment memoranda, term sheets, and supporting credit approval documents.
- Collect monthly operational and financial updates from portfolio companies and keep records accurate and current.
- Track covenant compliance and surface any emerging credit risks for senior review.
- Help compile quarterly portfolio reporting and investor-facing updates.
- Monitor startup funding trends and ecosystem developments across Indonesia, Vietnam, Singapore, the Philippines, and Thailand.
- Draft thematic research and sector analysis to support sourcing and fund strategy.
- Assist in identifying potential borrowers and building outreach and pipeline materials.
- Support LP reporting, pitch decks, and other investor communications as needed.
- Contribute to internal tools, scoring models, and knowledge management resources.
Qualifications and requirements
- 2 to 5 years of experience in investment banking, corporate banking, credit analysis, management consulting, or another analytical role; exceptional fresh graduates from top institutions may also be considered.
- Strong financial modelling and analytical capabilities, with the ability to build models independently and interpret complex financial statements.
- Strong curiosity about technology startups, venture capital, and Southeast Asia’s digital economy.
- Ability to write clearly and concisely, with structured and well-supported analytical thinking.
- High attention to detail, strong organisation, and comfort managing several priorities under tight deadlines.
- Exposure to private credit, venture lending, or startup ecosystems is a strong plus.
- A degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, or another quantitative field from a recognised university.
