About Woolworths Group
Woolworths Group is a large, purpose-led organisation with more than 200,000 people and a shared goal of creating better experiences for a better tomorrow. The company focuses on fresh ideas, bold action, and better ways to meet the food and everyday needs of over 24 million customers each week. It offers a diverse, inclusive, and supportive workplace with flexibility, care, and opportunities to build a meaningful career.
Role Overview
In this position, you will design, build, and release reliable, scalable solutions that solve real business problems. Your work will have visible impact in stores and will directly support New Zealanders every day. The role sits in a highly collaborative hybrid setup and involves working across the full development lifecycle with testers, product owners, and business analysts. You will also contribute to production support through an on-call roster.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deploy robust, scalable software solutions that address practical business needs.
- Work closely with testers, product owners, business analysts, and other technical team members throughout the delivery process.
- Support production systems and take part in on-call coverage when required.
- Contribute to architecture, design, quality, and operational excellence across the stack.
What You Bring
You should be a strong team player who can communicate clearly with both technical colleagues and non-technical stakeholders. Hands-on experience in the Microsoft ecosystem is important, along with familiarity with modern delivery and engineering practices. A willingness to grow across a modern technology stack is also valued.
Technical Focus
- Strong working knowledge of C#.NET and SQL.
- Practical experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
- Exposure to microservice-based architecture.
- Experience working in agile environments such as Scrum or Kanban.
- Understanding of non-functional requirements including performance, accessibility, code coverage, and shift-left testing.
- Experience with observability platforms such as Dynatrace or App Insights.
- Exposure to React or Angular.
- Experience designing APIs using REST and GraphQL.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes and containerized workloads.
- Knowledge of Entity Framework and software design principles such as SOLID, DDD, and CQRS.
Work Environment and Benefits
- Flexible hybrid working model with time split between a support office or hub and home.
- A high-impact role that supports teams doing meaningful work in the community.
- Access to a global organisation with broad career pathways and cross-functional exposure.
- Wellbeing support, including 24/7 access to the Sonder app.
- A progressive leave policy designed to give you more time for what matters.
- Team discounts across Woolworths Group brands and a rewards program that recognises purpose-driven work.
Diversity and Inclusion
Woolworths Group values diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. The organisation aims to create a workplace where everyone can contribute, feel respected, and reach their potential. Candidates are encouraged to apply, and support can be provided for adjustments during the hiring process.
