Role overview

Twinkle Toes Nanny Agency is looking for a caring infant caregiver in Gainesville, Florida. The position centers on providing attentive, age-appropriate support for babies from birth through 12 months, with a strong focus on safety, comfort, and early development. This is a paid part-time in-home role for someone who is energetic, dependable, and committed to helping families and infants thrive.

Compensation

Pay is set at $18 to $20 per hour.

Core responsibilities

  • Offer consistent, nurturing, and responsive care to infants throughout the shift.
  • Keep to feeding routines, including breast milk, formula, and solids when developmentally suitable.
  • Handle diaper changes regularly and follow strong hygiene practices.
  • Support healthy sleep habits and use safe-sleep methods aligned with AAP guidance.
  • Plan age-appropriate activities such as tummy time, sensory play, reading, and singing.
  • Track developmental progress and share updates with parents.
  • Keep the child’s space tidy and orderly, including the nursery, bottles, and toys.
  • Sterilize bottles, pump accessories, and other feeding tools.
  • Wash and manage infant laundry as needed.
  • Comfort, calm, and soothe the infant using appropriate care techniques.
  • Transport the infant safely when required, if applicable.

Safety and health expectations

  • Provide uninterrupted supervision whenever the infant is in your care.
  • Follow safe-sleep rules such as placing the baby on the back and keeping the crib clear.
  • Hold current infant CPR and first aid training.
  • Identify signs of illness or distress and report concerns without delay.
  • Follow the family’s routines and any child-specific instructions exactly.
  • Use proper water safety and general household safety practices at all times.

Qualifications

  • Previous infant care experience is required, including experience with newborns.
  • Strong understanding of infant development and daily care routines.
  • Valid infant CPR and first aid certification is mandatory.
  • A background check and clean driving record are required.
  • Candidate must be a non-smoker.
  • Must be reliable, punctual, and professional.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are needed.

Preferred background

  • Newborn Care Specialist certification or similar training is an advantage.
  • Experience with sleep-training approaches is preferred.
  • Familiarity with baby-led weaning or early feeding methods is a plus.
  • Experience in private homes or with more than one child is beneficial.

Work setting and expectations

This is an in-home position and may require schedule flexibility, including early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends. Professionalism and confidentiality are essential while working inside the family home. Personal phone use should be kept to a minimum during working hours.

Physical requirements

The role requires the ability to lift and carry infants weighing up to 30 lbs. You should also be comfortable sitting on the floor, kneeling, and participating in floor-based play while staying alert for long periods.
