Job description
Overview
One Manchester is hiring a full-time, permanent Income Assistant to join its Income and Allocations team in Manchester. The organisation focuses on delivering quality homes, practical support services, and opportunities that help customers and communities thrive.
Role Summary
This position plays an important part in the wider income collection function. You will work with customers, internal teams, and external partner agencies to keep processes running smoothly, with a major emphasis on former tenant arrears management, which is expected to account for around half of the role. The job involves handling a personal caseload, speaking with former tenants, and agreeing repayment plans that are realistic and sustainable.
What the Organisation Does
One Manchester manages more than 12,000 homes across central, south, and east Manchester. As a Registered Provider of Social Housing, it aims to do more than provide secure housing; it also supports wellbeing, money advice, employment and training, and wider community development. The organisation is committed to safe homes, inclusive growth, and long-term support for residents.
What They Are Looking For
- Previous administrative experience, ideally in a role where deadlines are tight and priorities can change quickly.
- Background in a target-driven setting with responsibility for meeting KPI expectations.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team.
- Comfort using IT systems in day-to-day work.
- Ability to keep clear records and produce short, accurate, relevant case notes.
- Strong planning and organisational ability, with careful attention to detail and good handling of multiple competing tasks.
Working Style and Culture
One Manchester describes itself as a supportive and flexible employer with a strong focus on inclusion, creativity, and ambition. The organisation is also moving further toward agile working and encourages flexible working where practical.
Equality, Diversity and Flexible Working
The organisation follows a Rooney Rule approach and aims to interview at least one ethnically diverse candidate for all roles. For trades and facilities roles, it also aims to interview at least one female candidate where underrepresentation exists. Applications are welcomed from eligible candidates regardless of sex, race, disability, age, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, religion or belief, marital status, or pregnancy and maternity. If you need flexible or part-time arrangements, the employer indicates that this may be considered depending on the role.
Important Dates
This is a permanent position with a closing date of 26 June 2026.
