Role overview
FRU AND SONS LTD is looking for a Human Resources Recruiter to manage end-to-end hiring activities and help secure capable professionals for its growing import and export business in consumer goods. The position focuses on building a strong candidate experience, filling workforce needs effectively, and keeping recruitment practices aligned with company rules and applicable employment legislation.
Talent acquisition duties
- Create hiring approaches that bring in well-matched applicants.
- Draft and share vacancy advertisements on suitable hiring channels.
- Find candidates through job portals, social platforms, professional communities, agencies, and employee referrals.
- Review CVs and applications to shortlist suitable profiles.
- Carry out phone, online, and in-person interviews.
- Arrange technical and final-stage interviews with line managers.
- Complete reference checks and background verification before issuing offers.
- Prepare job offers and employment contracts.
- Keep a healthy pipeline of talent for present and future openings.
Workforce planning and employer branding
- Partner with department heads to identify staffing needs.
- Track hiring demand and recruitment forecasts.
- Suggest practical hiring solutions to close staffing gaps.

- Develop connections with universities, professional bodies, and recruitment partners.
- Take part in job fairs and hiring events.
Recruitment administration and onboarding
- Keep recruitment files and applicant records accurate and up to date.
- Monitor hiring metrics such as time-to-hire, cost-per-hire, source effectiveness, and offer acceptance rate.
- Compile monthly recruitment reports.
- Coordinate onboarding for new hires.
- Set up induction schedules.
- Ensure all joining paperwork is completed before the employee starts.
- Support department managers during probation periods.
Compliance and performance expectations
- Ensure recruitment practices follow labor laws and internal policies.
- Protect confidentiality of applicant and employee information.
- Support fair hiring and equal opportunity practices.
- Work toward key hiring outcomes such as reduced time-to-fill, strong hire quality, good probation retention, controlled hiring costs, higher offer acceptance, compliance, candidate satisfaction, hiring manager satisfaction, and a healthy talent pipeline.
Qualifications and skills
A master’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Industrial Psychology, or a similar discipline is required. Professional HR credentials such as SHRM, HRCI, CIPD, or an equivalent qualification will be considered an added advantage. The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years of experience in recruitment or talent acquisition, with preference for exposure to wholesale, import/export, logistics, FMCG, or retail environments.
