Job description
Role Overview
We are looking for a proactive Human Resources Generalist who can work well in a dynamic, high-paced setting and contribute directly to team growth. This position combines recruiting, HR operations, systems administration, and employee support. You will oversee the full employee journey, help strengthen trade and apprentice hiring channels, and support smooth day-to-day HR administration.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end recruitment by collaborating with hiring managers to define job needs, write role profiles, source candidates, interview applicants, and guide the process through to offer stage.
- Develop and maintain talent pipelines through partnerships with schools, training institutions, and industry groups, with a focus on trades and the Registered Apprenticeship Program (RAP).
- Handle onboarding and offboarding activities, including offer preparation, system access setup, exit interviews, and compliance-related departure tasks.
- Administer the HRIS and act as the internal Dayforce specialist, including routine audits across platforms to protect employee data accuracy.
- Support internal stakeholders by providing guidance on HR policies, employee handbooks, organizational structure, and employment law basics, while also assisting with employee relations and recognition efforts.
- Identify process delays and recommend practical improvements that reduce administrative workload for operational leaders.
What We’re Looking For
- A diploma or degree in Human Resources Management or a related discipline.
- Three to five years of progressive experience in HR.
- Background in energy services, construction, oil and gas, or another fast-moving industrial setting is considered an advantage.
- Experience using Dayforce is strongly preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of applicant tracking systems and candidate sourcing databases.
- Good understanding of Canadian employment standards, human rights legislation, and basic payroll practices.
- Ability to work independently and deliver results with limited day-to-day supervision.
- Sound judgment, discretion, and the maturity to manage sensitive or confidential employee information.
- Clear, consultative communication style with the ability to work effectively with both field teams and leadership.
- Excellent organization and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple deadlines and high-volume work.
Company Culture and Benefits
- Employee share ownership opportunity through the Employee Share Ownership Plan (ESOP).
- A workplace grounded in the PROS values: Performance, Respect, Ownership, and Safety.
- Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance, plus HCSA, EFAP, and RRSP contributions.
- Opportunities for career development and professional growth.
- An inclusive environment with a strong focus on respect, diversity, reconciliation, and partnerships with Indigenous Peoples.
