Role overview
A healthcare organization is looking for an HR Generalist to join on a contract basis, with the possibility of converting to a permanent position later. The role requires a strong generalist background in human resources, including reporting work, advanced Excel use, and hands-on experience with Workday. Workday experience is mandatory for consideration.
Compensation and work arrangement
The pay range for this assignment is $32 to $38 per hour, depending on relevant experience. The schedule is hybrid, with 2 to 3 days per week expected onsite in New York, NY.
Key responsibilities
- Handle recruitment activities such as creating job postings, reviewing applicants, and setting up interviews.
- Administer employee benefits programs and respond to questions about enrollment and coverage.
- Support onboarding and exit processes so employees transition smoothly into and out of the organization.
- Keep employee information current and accurate in Workday while maintaining compliance standards.
- Assist with payroll-related tasks, including data entry and correction of pay discrepancies.
- Help manage immigration-related documentation and compliance follow-up.
- Contribute to performance review and compensation cycles with analysis and recommendations.
- Take ownership of HR projects and initiatives that support broader business objectives.
Requirements
- A Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Resources or a closely related discipline is required.
- At least 3 years of generalist HR experience is required, with 5 years preferred.
- Proven ability to work in HR software, especially Workday, is essential.
- Strong familiarity with benefits administration, time and absence tracking, and onboarding workflows is needed.
- Excellent organization and detail management skills are important for day-to-day HR operations.
- Capability to review employee data and turn it into useful insights is required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary for working with employees and internal stakeholders.
