Opportunity Overview
A fast-expanding organization with several business entities is hiring a Director of People Operations / Director of Human Resources to join its executive leadership team. The role is designed for a senior HR leader who can shape the people function, strengthen culture, and put scalable infrastructure in place to support continued growth.
The company has grown from roughly $13 million in annual revenue to $25 million and is expected to surpass $40 million this year. It operates across multiple companies and Florida locations, and leadership is looking for someone who can align HR practices across the business, support compliance, and build systems that can grow with the organization.
Candidates based in the Tampa Bay area or the Treasure Coast, including Stuart, are preferred. Hybrid or remote arrangements may be available for exceptional candidates, with occasional travel to company locations required.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a strategic partner on the executive leadership team and advise ownership on people-related decisions.
- Create and carry out a people strategy that supports business expansion goals.
- Lead the HR function across multiple operating companies and locations.
- Guide organizational structure, workforce planning, succession planning, and talent development efforts.
- Design, roll out, and maintain HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Keep the organization aligned with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Handle employee relations matters, including investigations, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution.
- Oversee workers’ compensation, unemployment claims, and broader risk-reduction measures.
- Support OSHA awareness, safety initiatives, and workplace compliance.
- Supervise payroll administration and HR technology, including ADP.
- Manage benefits enrollment, renewals, and vendor partnerships.
- Create efficient HR workflows, reporting structures, and performance management systems.
- Develop HR dashboards and metrics that help leadership make informed decisions.
- Bring consistency to hiring, onboarding, performance management, and employee communication across business units.
- Help unify multiple operating companies into a single, scalable organizational structure.
- Work with leadership on integrations, acquisitions, organizational development, and related strategic projects.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of progressive leadership experience in Human Resources.
- Background supporting organizations with multiple locations.
- Proven ability to build or expand HR systems within a growing business.
- Strong working knowledge of employment law, compliance, employee relations, payroll, and benefits administration.
- Experience working directly with executive leadership teams.
- Track record of leading recruiting and talent acquisition efforts.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational development capabilities.
- Preferred industry exposure in construction, roofing, manufacturing, home services, trades, or field-service operations.
- Experience with teams of about 50 to 200 employees across several locations preferred.
- Knowledge of OSHA compliance, workplace safety programs, and workers’ compensation administration preferred.
- Experience in high-growth, rapidly expanding environments preferred.
- Multi-entity, multi-company, integration, consolidation, or M&A experience preferred.
- Professional certification such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR is preferred.

Compensation
Base pay ranges from $150,000 to $180,000 per year, with bonus and benefits included.
Location and Work Arrangement
Preferred locations are Tampa, FL or Stuart, FL. Hybrid and remote options may be considered for outstanding candidates, but periodic travel to company sites will be required.
