Job purpose
This role is responsible for supporting a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible workplace within an integrated facility management environment in Abu Dhabi. Key responsibilities
- Carry out detailed HSE inspections and audits to spot hazards and verify adherence to legal, regulatory, and company standards.
- Investigate incidents and accidents, identify underlying causes, and implement corrective measures to help avoid repeat events.
- Create, refresh, and roll out HSE policies, procedures, and awareness programs across the organization.
- Work closely with internal teams and outside agencies to support HSE initiatives and meet regulatory expectations.
- Assess environmental impacts and suggest practical mitigation steps to reduce environmental harm.
- Compile clear reports on HSE performance, compliance, and emerging trends for senior leadership.
- Track compliance with safety rules and risk controls, ensuring accountability across the workplace.
- Offer technical HSE advice and hands-on support to strengthen continuous improvement and a safety-first culture.
Qualifications and experience
The ideal candidate should hold a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a closely related discipline. Professional qualifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or similar credentials are strongly preferred. Working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 is important for managing integrated management systems effectively.
A solid grasp of UAE and international workplace safety and environmental regulations is required. Strong communication and people skills are needed to deliver training, coordinate with diverse stakeholders, and interact with auditors and regulators.
This position also calls for a proactive mindset, the ability to align HSE plans with business objectives, and a commitment to continual learning in new HSE practices and technologies.
Experience and technical skills
The role requires substantial experience in incident investigation, audit execution, and risk assessment and control, ideally in facility management or a similar sector. Hands-on experience in implementing and maintaining ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 systems is essential.
The candidate should be comfortable interpreting technical information, turning findings into practical actions, and explaining HSE concepts clearly to different audiences. Strong ownership, teamwork, and the ability to run training and awareness sessions that actively engage employees are also important.
In addition, experience with environmental impact analysis, HSE tools, digital recordkeeping, monitoring, and reporting is necessary. The role suits someone who can manage changing priorities, work in a fast-paced setting, and help build a workplace culture focused on health, safety, and environmental responsibility.
