Job description
Role overview
The HSE Assistant will support the Health, Safety and Environment team in carrying out workplace safety and environmental objectives. This position works closely with the HSE Engineer and contributes to safety evaluations, hygiene monitoring, critical facility checks, process hazard studies, incident reviews, and follow-up preventive actions.
Key responsibilities
- Help apply and uphold internal safety rules, procedures, and policies across the organization.
- Carry out inspections of work areas to identify hazardous conditions and document any safety or environmental concerns for the HSE Engineer.
- Support the HSE Engineer during audits, site visits, and environmental assessments at operational locations.
- Assist with risk assessments by reviewing hazards using severity, likelihood, exposure, and frequency, then help develop mitigation measures.
- Work with department leaders to introduce and maintain safer working practices and control measures.
- Contribute to accident management and prevention, including investigations related to project sites, operations, tasks, and equipment.
- Collect, share, and track incident information, near-miss reports, recommendations, and emerging trends.
- Maintain records, data, and statistics for company-wide accidents and related HSE information.
