About the Role

BDA, LLC is hiring an HRIS Specialist to support HR operations across the employee lifecycle. This position focuses on recruiting support, onboarding, offboarding, pay-related updates, promotions, compliance, reporting, and administration of HR systems. The role also partners with payroll to help keep payroll operations running smoothly.

In this role, you will serve as a culture ambassador for BDA, helping create a positive employee experience through accurate systems work, responsive support, and efficient process management. The company values people who enjoy technology, organization, problem-solving, and process improvement.

Location

This position is based in either Troy, MI or Atlanta, GA. It requires onsite work 4 days per week with 1 day remote. Candidates must live within commuting distance because regular in-person collaboration is required.

Key Responsibilities

The HRIS Specialist will support global onboarding activities, maintain HR data, assist with HR systems, and help ensure accurate employee records and smooth HR workflows.

  • Coordinate onboarding for new hires worldwide, including employment paperwork, background checks, I-9 verification, and new hire communication.
  • Create and maintain complete new hire employee files in company databases.
  • Work with internal teams to ensure equipment and system access are ready before an employee’s first day.
  • Create user accounts, manage permissions, and update employee information in the HRIS platform.
  • Provide troubleshooting, technical help, and process guidance to ATS, onboarding, and HRIS users.
  • Partner with HR colleagues to identify system enhancements and implement better solutions.
  • Perform regular audits to confirm personnel data accuracy and completeness, including agreements, compensation, and contracts.
  • Enter payroll-related data accurately to support payroll administration.
  • Process employee terminations in the HRIS and coordinate access removal and asset return with IT.
  • Prepare recurring reports for analytics, forecasting, trend tracking, and weekly personnel updates.
  • Support additional HR initiatives and assigned projects as needed.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience in HR administration.
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR Management or Business Administration.
  • Hands-on experience using Workday is required.
  • Experience with ADP Workforce is preferred.
  • Applicant tracking and onboarding system experience, especially Greenhouse or EMP Trust, is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Solid problem-solving ability.
  • Experience with data entry and data input work.
  • Comfort using PCs and standard office tools such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, stay organized, and handle a high volume of work.
  • Strong customer service mindset for both internal and external partners.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt quickly when priorities change.
  • Good judgment, discretion, and sensitivity when handling information.
  • Professional demeanor in all interactions.
  • Ability to respond quickly and appropriately to urgent matters.
