Job description
About the role
Wave is working to make Africa the first fully cashless continent by building financial services that are simple, affordable, and available everywhere. Since launching its mobile app in Senegal in 2017 for cash deposits, withdrawals, peer-to-peer payments, and business payments, the company has expanded to millions of users across nine countries.
The HR Systems Analyst will be part of the HR Technology team and report to the HR Systems Lead. The role focuses on helping implement a new HRIS, strengthening people systems, and supporting the technology that enables HR operations across multiple countries and regulatory environments.
What you'll do
- Support the migration to a new HRIS platform planned for 2026, including system setup, vendor coordination for configuration details, and end-to-end data migration work such as extraction, transformation, loading, quality checks, and testing.
- Build a strong understanding of existing HR processes and source data to preserve continuity, reduce disruption, and help employees move smoothly to the new system.
- Set up and tailor pre-defined workflows and processes in the new HRIS so they align with company policies and compliance requirements.
- Implement new systems and workflows or improve existing ones based on roadmap priorities.
- Help expand an internal service desk and improve support processes.
- Monitor whether HR processes are being followed and identify any gaps or deviations.
- Review HR system workflows to reduce manual work, eliminate duplication, and increase automation.
- Support migrations and integrations across Talent Management, Workforce Management, Payroll, and related HR systems.
- Manage upgrades, patches, and testing to keep HR systems running reliably after updates.
- Train HR team members and end users on system features and new functionality.
- Serve as a first point of contact for system troubleshooting and technical support.
- Help run HR data quality initiatives across HR, Talent, and Payroll teams.
- Extend data quality practices across all HR systems and conduct audits to spot and fix inconsistencies.
- Develop dashboards and reporting that support HR and business decisions, especially by connecting performance and learning data.
- Protect data privacy and support compliance with GDPR, CCPA, and other relevant regulations.
- Track compliance with local, national, and international HR data requirements.
- Maintain clear documentation for system setups, processes, and troubleshooting steps.
Requirements
- Professional fluency in English.
- A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related area.
- At least 3 years of experience managing HRIS platforms in organizations with more than 5,000 employees.
- Hands-on experience across multiple HR modules, including Talent Management, HCM, Compensation, and Learning & Development.
- Workday experience is strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of HR operations such as payroll, benefits, performance management, talent acquisition, talent operations, and learning & development.
- Experience delivering HRIS implementations, upgrades, and integrations from start to finish.
- Strong ability to configure HR systems, build workflows, and use reporting tools.
- Advanced skills in data management, analytics, and reporting.
- Experience with business intelligence tools such as Power BI or Looker.
- Understanding of integrations through APIs, middleware, or similar tools, plus experience working with integration teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for working with stakeholders and translating technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets.
Nice to have
- French language skills.
- Careful attention to detail and a strong drive for high-quality work.
- A proactive, self-directed approach to achieving ambitious goals.
- Enjoyment of learning new tools, solving technical problems, and automating manual processes.
