Job description
About the company
Hitachi Digital is a major force within the Hitachi Group’s digital transformation business and one of its fastest-expanding divisions. The organization plays a key role in the group’s strategy to lead in the rapidly evolving digital transformation space.
Through companies such as GlobalLogic, Hitachi Digital Services, Hitachi Vantara, and others, the group delivers end-to-end support across the digital lifecycle—from concept and design through to deployment and the infrastructure that powers it. The business brings together deep domain expertise, digital capabilities, technologies, and partnerships to create stronger synergies and generate meaningful impact for customers and society.
The company values people with different experiences, perspectives, and passion, and does not expect candidates to match every single requirement perfectly.
Role overview
This position is for a Specialist, HR Shared Services in India. The role requires strong organization, attention to detail, and the ability to provide reliable and timely HR support to employees. A major part of the job involves managing onboarding from start to finish for new joiners and handling employee queries through a ticketing system.
Key responsibilities
The selected candidate will oversee pre-boarding and onboarding activities for new hires in India, ensure all documents are collected and validated, and coordinate with teams such as IT, Payroll, and Facilities so that new employees have access, equipment, and a ready workspace on their first day. The role also includes running HR induction and orientation sessions, explaining policies, benefits, and HR processes, and keeping employee data accurately updated in the HRIS.
In addition, the specialist will act as the first line of support for HR-related questions from employees, managers, and outside partners through the HR Shared Services ticketing tool. This includes resolving a high number of cases related to policies, SOPs, benefits, and employee data changes, ensuring tickets are properly logged, monitored, and closed within SLA timelines, and escalating specialized matters to the correct HR CoE or other teams when needed. The role also involves contributing to the knowledge base by recording solutions and frequently asked questions.
The position further supports compliance by ensuring adherence to Indian labor laws and internal policies during onboarding and record maintenance, and by assisting with internal and external HR audits through the preparation of required documents and data.
Experience and qualifications
Candidates should have 3 to 4 years of experience in HR, specifically with onboarding and compliance, preferably in organizations with at least 3,000 employees. A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or a related discipline is required. A master’s degree in a related field is preferred.
Applicants should have strong knowledge of labor laws and statutory regulations, be comfortable working with HRIS and similar systems, and bring excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational abilities. The role calls for someone who can work both independently and collaboratively. Experience in a fast-moving, high-growth environment and familiarity with current HR practices are considered advantages.
