Role Overview
The HR Generalist is a hands-on HR operations role that keeps payroll, benefits, and compliance running accurately and on time. This position also acts as a dependable point of contact for employees with everyday HR questions and partners closely with the Director of Human Resources.
Key Responsibilities
- Process payroll accurately and on schedule, including timekeeping checks, deductions, pay changes, tax filings, unemployment claims, garnishments, payroll registrations, and record maintenance.
- Administer employee benefits by handling enrollments, changes, terminations, annual open enrollment, carrier and broker coordination, leave administration, and employee questions.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment rules by keeping records current, managing required notices and postings, supporting audits, and assisting with EEO and wage-and-hour reporting.
- Oversee core HR operations such as HRIS data accuracy, employee files, routine reporting, onboarding/offboarding coordination, and responses to employee HR questions.
- Support recruiting for standard high-volume roles through candidate screening, role posting, and interview coordination when needed.
- Take on additional HR-related duties as required.
Experience and Education
This role requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience, along with 2 to 4 years of HR experience that includes direct ownership of payroll processing and benefits administration. The candidate should understand U.S. employment law, wage and hour rules, and HR compliance practices, and should be comfortable working with HRIS and payroll systems, spreadsheets, and data.

- Payroll is processed accurately and on time every cycle, with clear documentation and strong internal controls.
- Rippling or a similar HRIS is kept clean, organized, and useful for reporting and workflow management.
- Benefits and leave matters are handled smoothly, with timely and clear employee support.
- Compliance is managed proactively through updated policies, completed audits, and current records.
- Standard screening support contributes to a smooth and well-organized hiring process.

Compensation and Benefits
The role offers a competitive salary of 45,000 to 50,000 USD per year, with most hires expected toward the middle of the range. It is also eligible for up to 10% annual bonus and participation in the company’s equity program.

Employment Details
