Role summary

This full-time, on-site HR Coordinator position is based at Hyatt Place Melbourne Caribbean Park in the Greater Melbourne Area. The role supports the hotel’s everyday HR activities, including recruitment assistance, interview scheduling, contract preparation, and the handling of onboarding and exit paperwork. You will help keep employee records accurate, assist with payroll and timekeeping administration, and support compliance with hotel and brand HR standards. The position also serves as a point of contact for team member questions and helps coordinate leave, training, communication, engagement activities, performance review processes, and health and safety initiatives to encourage a positive and inclusive workplace.

Key duties

  • Assist with recruitment administration, including screening applications, arranging interviews, and preparing employment offers or contracts.
  • Support onboarding and offboarding processes by organising documentation and maintaining accurate records.
  • Help manage employee files, HR data, and other confidential personnel information.
  • Provide assistance with payroll and timekeeping administration, ensuring records remain accurate and up to date.
  • Act as a contact point for employee queries related to leave, training, and general HR matters.
  • Support HR communication across team members, managers, and external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to engagement initiatives, performance review activities, and workplace health and safety programs.
  • Ensure HR processes align with applicable hotel policies, brand standards, and workplace compliance requirements.

Candidate profile

The ideal candidate will bring strong HR administration experience, particularly in employee records, onboarding support, and basic payroll or timekeeping coordination. Background in recruitment support such as screening, interview coordination, and offer or contract preparation is important. You should have a solid understanding of HR policies and basic workplace legislation, especially in hospitality or similar service-driven settings. Strong communication, relationship-building, organisation, multitasking, and time management skills are essential, along with discretion and attention to detail. Confidence using HRIS platforms, HR databases, and Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, and Outlook is also expected. A genuine commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and respectful workplace practices is highly valued. Experience in hotels, hospitality, or other customer-focused environments is considered an advantage. Candidates should hold a certificate or degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related discipline, or be able to demonstrate equivalent practical experience.
