Role Overview

Rho Nutrition is looking for a proactive, detail-focused, and people-oriented HR Assistant / Junior Generalist to support essential HR functions across the employee lifecycle. This role is well suited to someone early in their HR career who wants practical exposure to payroll, benefits, onboarding, offboarding, HR systems, employee documentation, and daily employee support in a fast-moving environment.

The person in this position will help maintain smooth HR operations, keep employee information accurate, support compliance-related tasks, and contribute to a positive employee experience. The role will work closely with HR leadership and partner with managers and employees across the organization.

Core Ownership

  • Assist with payroll preparation and related administrative workflows.
  • Support employee benefits administration and respond to benefit-related questions.
  • Keep employee records accurate and maintain data integrity in the HRIS.
  • Coordinate onboarding and offboarding activities for employees.
  • Support HR operations, compliance tasks, and employee documentation.
  • Help deliver a well-organized and positive experience throughout the employee lifecycle.

Payroll and Benefits Support

  • Support payroll prep by updating employee data, tracking time off, monitoring leave, and processing payroll changes.
  • Help ensure payroll information is complete, accurate, and delivered on time.
  • Assist with benefits tasks such as enrollments, changes, terminations, billing coordination, leave-related communication, and employee notices.
  • Answer employee questions about benefits, payroll, policies, and HR procedures.

HRIS and Employee Records

  • Update and maintain employee data in the HRIS while protecting confidentiality.
  • Support audits, HR reporting, and data checks.
  • Help manage HR documents and electronic personnel files.
  • Look for opportunities to improve HR workflows and system efficiency.

Onboarding and Offboarding

  • Coordinate new hire onboarding activities, including paperwork, system access, orientation scheduling, and communication.
  • Contribute to a smooth and welcoming start for new employees.
  • Support offboarding steps such as exit paperwork, access coordination, and benefits-related communication.

Leave Administration

  • Help manage employee leave processes by tracking absences, maintaining supporting documents, and coordinating with employees and managers.
  • Assist with FMLA, state leave, disability, parental leave, and other applicable leave programs.
  • Work with payroll and benefits providers to keep leave-related records and updates accurate.
  • Ensure leave documentation and workflows remain organized and compliant.

HR Operations and General Support

  • Provide support for everyday HR administrative and operational work.
  • Help maintain compliance with company policies and employment practices.
  • Prepare HR letters, documents, and employee communications as needed.
  • Assist with engagement initiatives, meetings, and HR projects.
  • Handle sensitive information with a high level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.

What Success Looks Like

  • Payroll, benefits, and leave-related processes are supported accurately and on time.
  • Employee records and HRIS data remain consistently clean and up to date.
  • New hires receive a structured, welcoming, and efficient onboarding experience.
  • Offboarding is completed professionally and without unnecessary delays.
  • Employees get prompt, useful, and professional HR support.

Compensation

The estimated pay range is $60,000 to $70,000 depending on experience.
