Role Overview

Oaks Queenstown Shores Resort is adding to its housekeeping team and currently has multiple full-time openings available. This position suits someone who is reliable, detail-focused, and takes pride in maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness and guest presentation.

The ideal candidate will be energetic, quality-driven, and comfortable working in a collaborative environment where daily targets and guest satisfaction are priorities.

Key Duties

  • Carry out thorough room cleaning to a consistently high standard, including making beds neatly, vacuuming floors, and cleaning bathrooms.
  • Finish assigned cleaning work within the time allocated by the business.
  • Work closely with other team members to achieve daily cleaning goals and operational expectations.
  • Follow workplace safety requirements and environmental guidelines at all times.
  • Use cleaning tools, products, and equipment correctly and safely; full training and equipment will be supplied.
  • Develop respectful, professional working relationships with colleagues, guests, and contractors to support a positive work atmosphere.

Shift Details

The role offers a minimum of 30 hours per week. Pay is set at NZD 27 per hour. Shifts begin at 9:00 am and follow a rotating schedule from Monday through Sunday.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in housekeeping or cleaning is advantageous.
  • High attention to detail and a strong commitment to cleanliness standards.
  • Basic awareness of the safe use of cleaning chemicals and equipment; training will be provided.
  • Good physical fitness and stamina, with the ability to handle repetitive tasks such as bending, lifting, and standing for long periods.
  • Clear and professional communication skills for interacting with guests, team members, and contractors.
  • Strong organisational and time-management ability, with the skill to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • A proactive, positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
  • Availability for flexible scheduling, including weekends and public holidays.
