Job description

Job summary

This position is responsible for keeping both patient and non-patient care spaces in the hospital clean, safe, and visually welcoming. The role also supports departmental quality and performance improvement efforts, follows established policies and procedures, and may take on additional tasks as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Sanitize and clean assigned spaces by following the hospital’s seven-step cleaning procedure.
  • Apply infection prevention practices, including universal precautions and other safety measures while completing work.
  • Keep equipment, storage areas, and environmental closets neat and organized.
  • Carry out all floor care duties according to departmental standards and procedures.
  • Work in line with Service First expectations.
  • Meet the hospital’s required competency standards.
  • Follow hospital-wide and department-specific policies and procedures.
  • Complete assigned objectives and goals.

Experience

Prior housekeeping experience is expected for the role. One year of housekeeping experience is preferred, though there is no minimum requirement.

Education

A suitable educational background is required. The role calls for knowledge, skills, and mental development comparable to four years of high school, or an equivalent mix of education and work experience.

Training

Training will be provided after hiring.
