About the Role

W Hotels is seeking a dedicated Hotel Cleanliness Supervisor to oversee the quality standards of guest rooms and public areas. This role is crucial in ensuring a pristine environment for our guests, acting as a key liaison between various hotel departments. You will be instrumental in maintaining the high standards that define the W Hotels experience, contributing to our mission of igniting curiosity and expanding worlds through exceptional service.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough inspections of guest rooms, public spaces, and pool areas to verify adherence to cleanliness and quality standards after housekeeping services.
  • Manage sold room reports, confirm room statuses, identify discrepant rooms, and prioritize cleaning schedules for departing guests.
  • Support housekeeping management in overseeing daily operations and coordinating inter-departmental efforts with Engineering, Front Office, and Laundry.
  • Address and resolve issues related to discrepant rooms in collaboration with the Front Desk.
  • Prepare, distribute, and communicate any changes to room assignments to the relevant teams.
  • Ensure smooth handover of responsibilities by communicating pertinent issues to the incoming shift.
  • Complete all required administrative paperwork accurately and on time.
  • Assist in the hiring, training, scheduling, performance evaluation, counseling, discipline, motivation, and coaching of housekeeping staff.
  • Uphold all company policies and safety and security procedures, promptly reporting any maintenance issues, hazards, accidents, or injuries.
  • Complete all mandatory safety training and certifications.
  • Maintain a professional appearance with a clean uniform and personal grooming.
  • Safeguard proprietary information and protect company assets.
  • Provide exceptional guest service by acknowledging and welcoming guests according to company standards, anticipating needs, assisting individuals with disabilities, and expressing genuine appreciation.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with colleagues and guests.
  • Foster positive working relationships and respond appropriately to employee concerns.
  • Ensure all operations meet established quality expectations and standards.
  • Perform physical tasks including moving, lifting, carrying, and placing objects up to 55 pounds independently and heavier objects with assistance.
  • Operate and maneuver housekeeping carts and other equipment over varied surfaces.
  • Utilize a range of motion including reaching overhead, bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
  • Maintain physical stamina for extended periods of standing, sitting, kneeling, or walking throughout the work shift.
  • Demonstrate fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination for manipulating objects of various sizes and weights.
  • Utilize computer systems and point-of-sale systems for data entry and retrieval.
  • Visually verify information presented in various formats, including small print.
  • Undertake other reasonable duties as assigned by supervisors.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is preferred.
  • A minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience in a similar role.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a supervisory capacity.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and prolonged standing/walking.
  • Proficiency in using computer systems for reporting and communication.
  • Strong understanding of hotel operations and housekeeping standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to problem-solve and make decisions effectively.

Eligibility

This position is open to individuals with a background in housekeeping or hotel operations, preferably with supervisory experience. Candidates should possess a strong commitment to service excellence and the ability to meet the physical demands of the role.

Education Required

High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent preferred.
