Job description
About the organisation
SAVA is building advanced biosensing technology designed to make health information accessible in a painless, real-time and affordable way. The company’s mission is to change how people engage with their health by using science-led, body-sensing innovation.
Role overview
SAVA is running a product testing study in Central London and needs a Healthcare Assistant to help deliver it. This is an on-site, fixed-term assignment lasting around two months with an immediate start. You will support the day-to-day running of the study by collecting capillary blood glucose measurements and helping participants throughout each testing day. Full training on the study process will be provided by SAVA staff. The position does not include giving treatment, administering medication, or making clinical decisions.
Key duties
- Obtain capillary blood glucose measurements from participants using a commercial glucose monitor, following clean and safe technique.
- Support and observe groups of 5 to 8 healthy adult participants who stay on site for the full testing day.
- Carry out the study plan precisely, with attention to correct timing and consistent readings.
- Document measurements and observations in a clear and accurate way.
- Keep the testing area clean and safe, and follow proper hygiene and sharps disposal practices.
- Escalate any concerns or unusual observations promptly to SAVA staff.
Candidate profile
Applicants should have healthcare training or practical experience, such as work as a Healthcare Assistant, phlebotomy experience, or study in nursing or paramedicine. Experience supporting patients or participants in a clinic, laboratory, or health-product environment is also useful. You should be confident performing fingerprick sampling, dependable, professional, and comfortable working in a detail-heavy, protocol-led setting.
Training and support
You will receive full instruction from SAVA team members on the study procedures. Experienced staff will also be available to support you throughout the assignment.
Working arrangements
- Location: Central London, on site.
- Duration: approximately 2 months, covering July and August.
- Start: immediate.
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day.
- Full rota: provided when you begin.
Bonus considerations
- Phlebotomy or venepuncture certification.
- Previous support on clinical trials or research studies.
- Good Clinical Practice (GCP) training.
Why this role matters
This is a practical opportunity to contribute to work with real-world impact. The study is an important step in validating SAVA’s technology for future users, and the quality of the results depends on careful, consistent work. You will be part of a thoughtful team that values reliability, professionalism, participant care, and mutual support.
Terms and conditions
This is a fixed-term, on-site role based in Central London. It is expected to run for about two months, from July through August, and begins immediately. The job requires attendance for 8 hours a day, Monday to Friday.
