Job description
Role Overview
We are looking for a Health Coach to join a collaborative team in Abu Dhabi. This is an onsite position focused on helping clients make lasting lifestyle improvements and achieve better health results through evidence-based coaching methods, while working closely with multidisciplinary healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead individual and group coaching sessions, both independently and alongside multidisciplinary care teams.
- Use internationally recognized coaching frameworks to support goal planning, behaviour change, and long-term lifestyle improvement.
- Communicate with patients using a person-centred approach and motivational interviewing techniques.
- Apply proven health coaching methods to promote healthier habits and assist with the prevention and management of chronic conditions.
- Maintain accurate records of patient meetings and progress in Electronic Health Record systems and digital health tools, where relevant.
- Work in close coordination with nurses, allied health professionals, and other members of the care team to deliver integrated support.
- Use patient-generated health information and wearable device data to provide coaching based on measurable trends and insights.
- Prepare progress updates and outcome reports as needed.
Required Qualifications
- A valid Department of Health (DOH) Abu Dhabi professional license, or eligibility to obtain one.
- Background in nursing or another allied health profession.
- Completion of a Health Coaching Certification Programme with at least 40 hours of coach-specific training.
- Preferred credentials include UKIHCA, NBHWC, HCANZA, or NHS Certified Health Coach.
- Ability to secure Association for Coaching (AC) accreditation within 12 weeks of joining; preference will be given to applicants who already hold AC accreditation.
- Ability to meet AC accreditation standards, including at least 100 coaching hours, at least 6 supervision sessions, client references, a coaching case study, reflective practice records, and compliance with AC ethical guidelines.
Preferred Experience and Skills
- Working knowledge of Electronic Health Record systems.
- Experience using healthcare technology platforms and digital health solutions.
- Understanding of goal-setting methods, behaviour change approaches, coaching frameworks, and patient engagement techniques.
- Ability to interpret patient-generated health data, including information from wearable devices.
