This is a senior leadership opening for an outstanding Head Teacher to guide a flagship Special Educational Needs (SEN) primary school in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Location and compensation
Location: Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Salary: Up to £90,000 per year, depending on experience, with the package described as including salary, accommodation, and travel allowance. The pay is issued in Saudi Riyals and is equivalent to SAR 37,500 per month.
The employer also indicates a competitive tax-free package, relocation assistance, and additional benefits for the selected candidate.
What you will do
As Head Teacher, you will take responsibility for the school’s daily leadership and ensure strong standards across teaching, learning, care, and operations. You will work closely with the Executive Principal and a multidisciplinary team to create an environment built on high expectations, individual support, and positive learner outcomes.
Leadership and strategy
- Provide clear, ambitious leadership rooted in the school’s mission and values.
- Partner with the Executive Principal to set the strategic direction and support ongoing school improvement.
- Build a supportive and inclusive culture where students feel secure, respected, and motivated to succeed.
Curriculum and educational quality
- Lead curriculum planning and delivery so it is well matched to SEN learners and aligned with international good practice.
- Maintain high expectations for teaching and learning, using evidence-based approaches to pedagogy, behaviour support, and therapeutic intervention.
- Encourage staff development and coaching so the team remains effective, skilled, and focused on student progress.
Compliance and operations
- Ensure the school follows all KSA Ministry of Education requirements and international safeguarding expectations.
- Oversee operational matters such as staffing, budgeting, and resource planning to support smooth and sustainable school performance.
- Prepare the school for accreditation and external review, ensuring strong governance and accountability.
Community and stakeholder engagement
- Develop constructive relationships with parents, carers, and the wider community to support a collaborative school atmosphere.
- Represent the school at local, regional, and international forums to promote its vision and impact in inclusive education.
- Work with local and global partners to encourage innovation and share best practice in SEN provision.
Candidate profile
The school is looking for an experienced and visionary senior leader with a strong background in special educational needs education. You should be confident leading a primary school setting and capable of driving improved outcomes for learners with additional needs.
Eligibility and experience
- Demonstrated leadership experience in a SEN primary school, ideally as a Head Teacher, Deputy Head, or in a similar senior leadership role.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification, with SEN specialism.
- A strong history of improving outcomes for students with additional learning needs.
- Proven ability in curriculum development, inclusion strategies, and whole-school leadership.
- Excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills.
- Experience in international education or across different education systems is helpful, though not mandatory.
- Candidates must be eligible for an iqama.
