Job description
Role Overview
Elizabeth House Residential Home in Poole (BH12 4PX) is looking for a Head Housekeeper to help maintain a safe, tidy, and welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors. The home has 43 beds and provides residential and dementia care, with the aim of helping residents feel comfortable and supported as though they were at home.
Pay and Working Hours
The role pays £13.35 per hour. You will work 40 hours each week, including alternate weekends. The usual shift timing is 08:30 to 17:00.
What You Will Do
- Oversee the everyday running of housekeeping and laundry services, including guiding and supporting the housekeeping and laundry team.
- Make sure cleaning, laundry, and domestic equipment is used and cared for correctly in line with manufacturer guidance and health and safety rules.
- Record and escalate minor maintenance issues or defects without delay.
- Ensure rooms that are available for viewings are kept to a high presentation standard.
- Create and manage schedules for daily, weekly, monthly, annual, and recurring cleaning and maintenance duties.
- Reorder cleaning supplies and PPE, and ensure first aid kits are fully stocked and placed where they can be reached quickly in an emergency.
What They Are Looking For
Previous experience in a care home is not essential, although experience in housekeeping would be welcomed. The ideal person will take pride in keeping the environment fresh and inviting for residents, colleagues, and visitors, and should be comfortable working flexibly as part of a wider housekeeping team.
