Role Overview
In this Head Chef position, you will take charge of producing outstanding dishes made with fresh ingredients sourced locally. The role suits someone who is enthusiastic about food, confident in leading others, and committed to giving guests a dining experience they will remember.
Key Duties
- Manage the full day-to-day running of the kitchen and keep standards consistently high for quality and speed.
- Guide, motivate, and develop the culinary team, encouraging improvement and professional growth.
- Design appealing seasonal menus inspired by the flavours associated with St Andrews.
- Keep the kitchen tidy, well-organised, and compliant with food hygiene and safety rules.
- Control stock, purchasing, food spend, and supplier relationships to support strong profitability.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The right person will bring hands-on experience either as a Head Chef or as a highly capable Sous Chef ready to move up. They should have excellent leadership and communication abilities, a strong interest in developing people, and a genuine enthusiasm for cooking with fresh, local produce. Strong planning, organisation, and time management skills are also essential, along with a firm commitment to food quality and safety.
