Role Summary

The Head Barista is a full-time, on-site position in Doha, Qatar. The role leads day-to-day coffee bar operations and ensures that espresso drinks, pour-overs, and other specialty beverages are prepared to the required quality standards. This person also supports, coaches, and mentors baristas, keeps service running smoothly during peak hours, and maintains a tidy, safe, and well-organized bar and guest area.

Key Duties

  • Prepare espresso-based beverages, pour-overs, and other specialty coffee drinks in line with brand standards.
  • Guide and train baristas while providing hands-on support during service.
  • Monitor workflow and help the team manage busy periods efficiently.
  • Keep the coffee bar, customer area, and workstations clean, safe, and organized.
  • Calibrate equipment and ensure it is functioning correctly for consistent output.
  • Track coffee and milk stock levels and coordinate inventory needs.
  • Work with the roastery team to support product quality and service consistency.
  • Check that food and beverage presentation matches brand expectations.
  • Deliver responsive customer service and handle feedback in a professional manner.
  • Assist with point-of-sale activities and maintain accuracy in transactions.
  • Partner with management on menu changes and seasonal beverage additions.

Qualifications and Skills

The ideal candidate should bring strong barista capability, excellent guest-facing communication, and the confidence to lead a small team in a fast-paced café setting. Experience in specialty coffee is preferred, along with practical knowledge of coffee, hygiene, and service standards.

Additional Requirements

Applicants should be comfortable preparing food at a basic level and following safe handling and hygiene practices. Prior experience in a senior barista or shift-lead capacity is preferred, especially in a specialty coffee environment. The role requires the ability to remain effective under pressure, handle peak service periods, and maintain quality standards throughout the day. Basic cash handling and POS experience are important, along with reliability and attention to detail. The schedule may include mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Fluency in English is required, and additional languages are considered an advantage. Barista certifications are also a plus.

Work Schedule

This is a full-time onsite role. Availability across mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays may be needed depending on café operations.
