Job description
The opportunity
Haier is an international home appliances brand known for creating smart, people-focused products that improve daily life. In New Zealand, the company places strong emphasis on design quality, sustainability and premium solutions for residential, trade and commercial settings.
As part of the world’s largest appliance brand, you’ll join a business in an exciting phase of growth, backed by a partnership focused on fresh thinking and future-ready solutions in the appliance market.
The Auckland Haier Showroom is a flagship brand environment and an important touchpoint for trade, builders, designers, developers and retail audiences. It showcases the Haier appliances and Home Solutions range through hosted experiences, product demonstrations, training sessions and brand-led engagement.
Key responsibilities
Reporting to the GM of Marketing NZ, you will be responsible for the daily running of the Haier Showroom. This includes full ownership of showroom operations, appearance and the overall visitor experience.
You will act as the main in-showroom contact for visitors, representing the brand and delivering polished hosting, strong product knowledge and support across the Haier Appliance and Home Solutions portfolio.
The role is highly practical and hands-on. You will keep presentation and visual merchandising standards at a high level, oversee product changeovers for new launches, manage seasonal refreshes, and ensure the showroom always looks ready for customers and events.
Working alongside Retail Sales, Builder Commercial, Product, Training and Marketing teams, you will help coordinate customer visits and events that strengthen brand visibility and support commercial goals.
You will also prepare the space for meetings and events, maintain visitor records, monitor activity and performance, provide reporting and insights, and keep an eye on competitor activity and market trends so the showroom experience remains current and competitive.
Candidate profile
The ideal person is a client-facing professional with prior experience in showroom, retail or hospitality management. You should be comfortable engaging with B2B audiences such as builders, designers, developers and trade customers, and delivering experiences that reflect the brand well.
Strong presentation and product demonstration ability is important, along with the skill to explain technical features in a way that is clear, engaging and relevant to customers.
You will be organised, detail-oriented and comfortable supporting sales activity through proposals, specifications, event coordination, operational tasks and performance tracking. Experience in the appliance sector or local market would be helpful, but it is not required because training will be provided.
Good judgment, clear decision-making, accountability and a strong sense of ownership are essential. The role also requires flexibility, including weekend and evening work for events and client visits, as well as ongoing attention to health and safety responsibilities.
What is on offer
This opportunity gives you exposure to a large, complex global organisation and the chance to grow within a business that combines international scale with a strong New Zealand presence. The position offers varied work, interesting challenges and ongoing learning and development.
Benefits include a competitive salary, flexible working, continuous development opportunities, generous staff discounts on Fisher & Paykel and Haier products, life and disability insurance, discounted medical cover, access to enhanced family leave, and free car parking.
