Role overview
This position sits within rooms and guest services operations at Delta Hotels and Resorts in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The role supports smooth front desk and guest service operations, with a focus on check-in and check-out handling, billing accuracy, guest issue resolution, and team leadership in line with hotel standards.
Key duties
- Handle guest arrivals and departures by confirming identity, payment method, room assignment, and room key issuance.
- Set up and maintain accurate guest folios based on individual needs and ensure rate details align with market codes, noting any exceptions.
- Record loyalty program information, secure payment before key issuance, and review or adjust billing where required.
- Prepare and check daily logs, reports, and contingency lists, along with cashier and end-of-shift closing reports.
- Provide guests with directions and property information, and coordinate with other teams to fulfill special requests.
- Process all forms of payment, vouchers, paid-outs, and charges, then balance cash, drop receipts, and safeguard bank funds at the start and end of shifts.
- Obtain manual payment approvals when necessary and follow accounting procedures carefully.
- Inform Loss Prevention or Security when a guest reports theft.
- Support management in training, evaluating, coaching, motivating, and counseling team members, while acting as a role model and first contact for fair treatment and open-door concerns.
- Build positive working relationships, communicate clearly, respond to employee concerns appropriately, and help the team work toward shared goals.
- Follow all company policies, complete safety training and certifications, report incidents or unsafe conditions, and maintain confidentiality and a professional appearance.
- Welcome guests warmly, recognize service needs proactively, assist guests with disabilities, and communicate with courtesy and professionalism in person, in writing, and by phone.
- Use computers and POS systems to enter and retrieve information accurately, and perform additional reasonable duties assigned by supervisors.
- Remain on your feet or seated for extended periods and handle items weighing up to 10 pounds without assistance.
Preferred qualifications
The employer prefers candidates with a high school diploma or GED, at least 1 year of related work experience, and at least 1 year of supervisory experience. No license or certification is required.
