Role Overview
The Group Finance Manager will be a practical, hands-on finance professional owning day-to-day financial operations, reporting, and compliance across group entities. Reporting to the Finance Director, the role includes group consolidation, support for budgeting and forecasting, and ensuring intercompany and statutory requirements are completed correctly and on schedule. It is best suited to someone highly detail-oriented, comfortable working across jurisdictions, and able to work with limited supervision.
Responsibilities
- Manage financial reporting and consolidation across entities, including reconciliation of intercompany balances and alignment with intercompany agreements and transfer pricing terms.
- Help prepare statutory financial statements and coordinate with external auditors during yearly audits.
- Keep reporting timelines on track and ensure financial information is accurate, complete, and ready for audit review.
- Support the annual budgeting process and quarterly forecast cycles with the Finance Director.
- Carry out variance analysis against budget and forecast, and write clear commentary for management.
- Prepare recurring financial dashboards and internal reports for stakeholders.
- Perform ad hoc financial analysis based on business needs.
- Collaborate with internal teams to build additional reporting, such as monthly manpower reporting with HR, and help introduce practical AI use in finance processes, including KPI setting.
- Own the month-end close process for assigned entities, including journals, accruals, and prepayments.
- Review balance sheet reconciliations, investigate differences, and resolve issues quickly.
- Maintain accurate records for fixed assets, deferred revenue, and other accounting items relevant to SaaS businesses.
- Track group cash positions and produce regular cash flow reports.
- Handle intercompany payments and recharge tracking in line with agreed arrangements.
- Support banking administration, including account paperwork, signatories, and communication with banks such as DBS and other group banks.
- Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements in Singapore and other relevant jurisdictions, including GST filings and corporate secretarial deadlines.
- Support transfer pricing compliance through documentation, functional analysis memos, and alignment of intercompany pricing with agreed mark-up structures.
- Apply internal controls and finance policies, and escalate control weaknesses to the Finance Director.
- Assist with board resolutions and finance-related correspondence for directors.
- Maintain data accuracy in ERP systems such as NetSuite and manage financial data flow between systems.
- Keep the chart of accounts and entity structures properly maintained.
- Spot process inefficiencies and support improvement initiatives led by the Regional Finance Director.
- Assist with finance system enhancements, system-to-system reconciliations, and data validation.
- Support automation initiatives such as OCR-based data capture, banking integrations, control automation, and automated report generation.
Requirements
- A degree in Accountancy, Finance, or an equivalent qualification is required; professional credentials such as CPA, CA, or ACCA are preferred.
- 7 to 9 years of relevant experience in finance or accounting, with at least 1 to 2 years in a multi-entity or group finance setting.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, including consolidation accounting and intercompany transactions.
- Practical exposure to ERP platforms such as NetSuite, SAP, or similar systems, along with advanced Excel capability.
- Background in a technology, SaaS, or subscription-driven business would be an advantage.
- Understanding of transfer pricing principles and intercompany service agreements.
- Experience with deferred revenue, subscription billing, or SaaS revenue recognition.
