Key duties

  • Follow food safety requirements, standard operating procedures, health and safety rules, and all applicable company policies and programs.
  • Place orders, accept incoming stock, and merchandise products according to inventory control procedures when needed.
  • Deliver a high level of customer service and support shoppers with their needs.
  • Help drive sales by promoting featured items in the store.
  • Maintain the back room and sales floor, keeping the area clean, organized, and aligned with company standards.
  • Prepare customer orders when required.
  • Handle shrink-related tasks within the department as needed.
  • Assist in training newer team members.
  • Take on additional duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate should be able to work on their own in a busy, fast-moving setting. Strong verbal and written communication skills are important. The role may require physical activity, including standing for extended periods, bending, lifting, reaching, and handling items weighing up to 20 lbs.

Compensation and conditions

The posted pay range for this position is $17.30 to $19.75 per hour, with final pay influenced by location, experience, skills, internal equity, and market conditions. The role is full-time and based onsite in North Bay, Ontario, at 4160 Algonquin Sobeys, P1B 4Y8. Travel requirements are listed as 0–10%.
