Job description
Role overview
This position is responsible for preparing food items to company standards, following established procedures, policies, and regulations. The goal is to consistently deliver high-quality food service.
What you'll do
- Cook, partially cook, and prepare menu items as instructed.
- Set up ingredients, garnishes, sauces, service ware, and utensils needed for large-volume food production.
- Wash and sanitize kitchen tools and equipment in line with health and safety requirements.
- Store food and beverage items correctly by labeling, dating, rotating, and organizing them in the proper areas.
- Maintain clear communication with relevant departments to keep operations running smoothly.
- Immediately report equipment issues, maintenance needs, or any accidents to the supervisor.
- Take on additional tasks as assigned.
What we're looking for
- Hands-on cooking background, ideally from a restaurant cook or prep cook role.
- Valid Food Safety Certification.
- A certificate from a recognized culinary or cooking program.
- Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, ingredients, kitchen tools, and standard procedures.
- Ability to work quickly and with strong attention to detail.
- Awareness of accepted food service and kitchen best practices.
- Comfort working alone as well as with a team.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Physical stamina to handle the demands of the job.
- Capability to stand for long stretches, up to 9 hours.
- Comfort in a busy, high-pressure environment.
