Job description
About Kynship
Kynship is an ecommerce growth agency that helps large direct-to-consumer brands scale from eight to nine figures using a data-led approach. The team supports brands such as Purdy & Figg and WildBird by improving acquisition efficiency and driving profitable expansion through a three-part framework: forecasting, creative, and conversion. The company positions itself as a growth partner that looks at the broader business picture, blending strong financial understanding with high-volume creative testing and conversion optimization.
Role Overview
This position sits within a growing creative production team and plays a central role in delivering polished creative assets. As a Graphic Designer & Video Editor, you will be responsible for producing and quality-checking creative work across multiple DTC brands, covering both static ad assets and edited video or UGC content.
You will collaborate with AI design tools, reviewing and improving outputs before they are shared with clients. You will also edit creator-led content into engaging assets designed to perform. The role goes beyond basic execution: the ideal candidate understands performance marketing, knows what stops users from scrolling, and brings strategic creative judgment to every deliverable.
Static Creative Design
- Assess and improve static ad concepts for several brand accounts by following brand rules, adjusting copy, and reworking prompts until the output is ready for client delivery.
- Make sure each static asset feels aligned with the brand, supports conversions, and is visually refined before it is sent out.
- Act as the quality-control point between AI-generated work and the final client-facing version.
Video and UGC Editing
- Turn UGC and creator-shot footage into short-form ad creatives built for platforms such as Meta, TikTok, and YouTube.
- Create several versions from the same footage with different hooks, calls to action, formats, and aspect ratios.
- Layer in captions, brand fonts, motion graphics, and sound design where needed.
- Spot the strongest cut points, hook opportunities, and product moments inside raw creator content.
Cross-Brand Creative Operations
- Handle creative deliverables for more than 20 active brand accounts at the same time while keeping quality consistent.
- Bring together the static design and video editing work currently spread across external contractors into a single accountable function.
- Help shape how Kynship uses AI creative tools by identifying what is effective, what is not, and where the workflow can be improved.
- Work with Growth Strategists and Operations Specialists to align creative priorities across brands.
Experience and Requirements
Kynship is looking for a candidate with at least 3 years of experience in graphic design and/or video editing within a DTC or performance marketing environment, such as UGC content or direct-response static ads. A portfolio is required and should show paid ad creative work for both static and video formats, with a clear focus on conversion rather than aesthetics alone.
Hands-on DTC experience is important, including familiarity with what performs on Meta and TikTok and the ability to speak to results. Strong proficiency with design and editing tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Premiere Pro, CapCut, or similar software is expected. The role also calls for a strong eye for typography, layout, and motion, plus the ability to handle high volume without sacrificing quality. Ownership and initiative are essential; you should be proactive about identifying issues and solving them independently.
Nice to Have
- Background in an agency or multi-brand freelance setting is preferred over experience focused on a single in-house brand.
- Exposure to AI creative platforms such as Midjourney, Runway, CapCut, or similar tools is advantageous.
- Understanding of ad metrics such as CTR, thumb-stop rate, hook rate, and CVR, and how design decisions influence those outcomes, is a plus.
What You Will Not Find Here
- This is not a role with heavy agency-style process or long approval chains.
- You will not be working on just one brand; the work spans multiple accounts.
- AI will not replace the creative process; the expectation is that you will improve and refine AI-generated output.
Compensation and Benefits
The base salary range is $65,000 to $80,000 annually, depending on experience, with additional bonus potential tied to performance. This is a full-time employee role with benefits.
- Health insurance: the company pays 80% of employee premiums and 60% for dependents, starting on the first day of the month after your hire date.
- 401(k) match: 100% match on the first 3% of pay, plus a 50% match on the next 2%.
- Unlimited paid time off is offered to support flexibility and rest.
- Remote work flexibility is included.
- A one-time reimbursement of up to $300 is available for home office essentials.
- Gym reimbursement of up to $50 per month is provided.
- Internet reimbursement of up to $25 per month is available with proof of billing through Gusto.
Application Note
Applicants should submit their application along with a portfolio.
