Job description
About the Team
The Employer Branding group is a mixed-discipline unit of strategists, designers, and producers that shapes how ByteDance is perceived by talent around the world. The team works at the overlap of brand strategy, content creation, and recruitment marketing, setting employer brand direction that supports hiring goals. It also works with HR, recruitment, and business teams to build tailored campaigns for different roles, markets, and audience segments.
Role Overview
This opening is for an experienced Brand Designer who will create employer branding assets across the team. The role carries full ownership of the design process, from early concept development to final delivery and ongoing refinement, while keeping all work aligned with employer branding priorities and hiring objectives.
As a hands-on design specialist and creative collaborator, you will turn ideas into strong visual systems and assets, work closely with strategists and producers, and consistently deliver polished work efficiently and with measurable impact.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the visual design direction for employer branding initiatives and turn company culture into compelling public-facing content.
Create designs for a range of channels, including social platforms, employer branding websites or pages, and in-person events.
Build unified campaign assets that stay visually consistent across different formats and channels.
Improve and evolve employer branding digital experiences by applying UX thinking to make the candidate journey clearer and the content more effective.
Manage projects from idea stage through execution, coordinating with internal partners and outside vendors to ensure work is delivered on time.
Qualifications
Applicants should hold a diploma or bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Fine Arts, or a closely related discipline.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in visual design or brand design is required, with prior work on external-facing material such as social content, campaigns, or brand communications.
Candidates need a strong eye for design, including familiarity with layout principles, current visual trends, and storytelling for digital formats.
A solid portfolio showing high-quality visual work and the ability to translate ideas into engaging creative output is essential.
Strong teamwork skills are important, along with the ability to juggle several projects in a fast-moving environment.
Preferred Skills and Experience
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and Figma is preferred; motion design or video editing ability is an added advantage.
Familiarity with UI/UX concepts and designing for digital interfaces is a strong plus, especially with a user-focused approach to content design.
Attention to detail, flexibility, and the ability to handle changing priorities effectively are also valued.
