Job description
About the role
Johnson Partners is a boutique executive search and board advisory firm serving Australia and New Zealand. With two decades of experience and a global partnership through Caldwell Partners International, the firm works with ASX100 boards, private equity groups, and multinational businesses to fill CEO, C-suite, and board-level roles across Financial Services, Professional Services, Consumer & Retail, Technology, Industrial, and Sport.
This position offers the chance to contribute to high-impact leadership appointments that shape the direction of major organisations. You will work closely with Partners and support important search assignments through research, candidate analysis, and strategic project work. The role goes beyond routine administration and is designed for someone who wants to develop a career in executive search.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out detailed market research and map talent pools for senior leadership searches.
- Draft polished candidate profiles and documents that can be shared directly with clients.
- Work with Partners during client discussions and interviews with senior executives.
- Assist with business development activity and contribute to thought leadership initiatives.
- Help organise team meetings and keep search assignments running smoothly.
What we offer
- Flexible working arrangement with up to two days working from home and a CBD office on George Street.
- Development support through AESC-accredited training, tailored growth plans, and mentoring from senior leaders.
- Opportunities to accompany Partners to meetings with CEOs, boards, and chairs, building a strong executive network.
- Market-leading bonus arrangements across all levels.
- Four wellbeing days each year, a stocked kitchen, and an active social environment.
- Paid parental leave benefits: 3 months for primary caregivers, 2 weeks for non-primary caregivers, plus Keep In Touch days and further support.
- A strong commitment to diversity and inclusion, including support for First Nations leadership and co-founding the 40 Under 40 Most Influential Asian-Australian Awards.
Candidate profile
You should hold a tertiary qualification in Business, Psychology, or a similar discipline. The role suits someone with strong research and analytical ability, sound problem-solving skills, excellent written communication, and a sharp eye for detail. Confidence with Word and PowerPoint is important. You should also bring a collaborative approach, the ability to work quickly while maintaining quality, and a professional, energetic attitude suited to a high-performing team.
Application note
Applicants who do not meet every requirement are still encouraged to express interest if they believe they could be a strong fit for this role or another opportunity within the business. To apply, submit a CV along with a one-page cover letter explaining your interest in joining Johnson Partners.
