About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and qualified GLOBALG.A.P. QMS Auditor to join our team. This role is crucial for certifying and enhancing farm and plant production operations to meet the highest certification standards. If you have a passion for agriculture, food safety, and auditing, this is an excellent opportunity. The position involves assessing farms and food operations for compliance with GLOBALG.A.P. certification requirements, evaluating processes, records, and systems, and building strong client relationships. This role offers the chance to travel throughout New Zealand, working with growers and exporters in the horticulture sector.
While the preferred location is Tauranga, New Zealand, flexibility on location is offered. The role requires significant travel, potentially up to two weeks per month during peak periods.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct audits of crop production systems to ensure compliance with certification standards.
- Analyze records and processes to verify adherence to regulatory and food safety requirements.
- Prepare and submit accurate and timely audit reports.
- Maintain current technical knowledge in food safety, market standards, regulatory requirements, and auditing methodologies.
- Develop and sustain professional relationships with clients and stakeholders.
Qualifications and Experience
Technical Skills and Qualifications:
- A tertiary diploma (minimum 2 years) in horticulture, agricultural science, or a related field, coupled with at least 2 years of post-study experience in the agricultural industry (total 3 years in agriculture).
- Alternatively, a tertiary diploma (minimum 2 years) in a food-related discipline, with at least 4 years of experience in farm operations or technical production management.
- Completion of LEAD auditor training based on ISO/IEC Principles (minimum 37 hours).
- A minimum of 10 days of practical auditing experience in management systems such as ISO/IEC 9000, BRCGS Food, or GLOBALG.A.P. Option 2 standards.
Experience & Knowledge:
- Familiarity with the horticulture industry and agribusiness sector.
- Experience with local and international market standards, regulatory frameworks, food safety, and quality systems.
- A background in agribusiness operations and compliance.
- Proficiency in auditing, reporting, and problem-solving.
Required Skills
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Capacity for objective process analysis and ensuring adherence to standards.
- Effective time and project management skills.
A full, clean New Zealand driver's license is mandatory.
