Job description

Company Overview

Great Lakes Asset Management Inc. is an alternative asset management firm that invests across a varied mix of operating businesses and property assets. The company is built around disciplined investing, hands-on oversight, and a long-term approach to value creation. Its teams work across regions and asset classes to support durable growth and strong performance in a collaborative environment.

Role Overview

This full-time remote position is for a Global Project Management Director who will lead major cross-functional initiatives across the company’s international portfolio. The role focuses on shaping project and program plans, coordinating schedules and resources, and keeping work aligned with broader business goals. The Director will track scope, milestones, budgets, risks, and dependencies while partnering with senior leaders to communicate status, remove blockers, and continuously improve delivery practices.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will oversee the planning and execution of complex initiatives spanning multiple functions, teams, and geographies. You will build and maintain project schedules, manage budgets and resources, and monitor risk factors that could affect delivery. You will also lead project teams, improve governance and workflow practices, and work with stakeholders across operating businesses and property assets to establish consistent standards for execution.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate brings strong expertise in program and project management, with a track record of delivering global work on time and within budget. You should have solid budgeting and financial planning experience, along with the ability to allocate resources effectively for large initiatives. Prior success in team leadership, process design, and process optimization is important, as is experience in asset management, financial services, real estate, or a similar sector. Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills are essential, especially when influencing senior decision-makers. You should also be comfortable using project management tools and collaboration platforms, and be able to thrive in a remote environment that spans multiple time zones.

Education

A bachelor’s degree in business, finance, engineering, or a related discipline is required. An advanced degree or professional certifications such as PMP or PgMP would be an added advantage.
