Job description
Role overview
We are looking for a GIS Specialist to support the project team with geospatial services in line with the client’s and Bechtel’s GIS approach. This role calls for a strong grasp of how ESRI-based GIS tools can support project goals, along with the ability to work across disciplines to enable BIM and GIS use cases.
Project context
The assignment is tied to Expo 2030 Riyadh, a major global platform designed around the theme “Foresight for Tomorrow.” The event is planned from October 2030 to March 2031 and is expected to attract more than 40 million visits. The 6 km² master plan covers 491,100 m² GFA and can host up to 197 participating countries and 29 international organizations. Bechtel, working with Expo 2030 Riyadh Company, will oversee infrastructure delivery including early works, utilities, and public realm areas such as streets and parks. After the event, the site will transition into a mixed-use legacy development. The plan is aligned with international sustainability standards for urban afforestation, treated water, and energy sources.
Work arrangement

- Relocation is authorized for national or international candidates on a single basis.
- This is a full-time office/project role.

What you will do
In this position, you will provide GIS support to the project team and help deliver geospatial solutions that improve project execution, coordination, and data quality.
- Create maps in ArcGIS Pro for construction, logistics, safety, and other stakeholder groups in a PMC setting.
- Build, update, and manage geospatial data in file geodatabases, enterprise geodatabases, and project-specific structures.
- Organize datasets using feature datasets, feature classes, domains, subtypes, and coded value lists to strengthen standardization and accuracy.
- Work with project departments to gather requirements, define solutions, design applications and databases, develop data models, support testing, train users, and assist with rollout.
- Integrate GIS with BIM/CAD tools such as Revit, Civil 3D, 2D CAD, and similar platforms to increase project value across the lifecycle.
- Help develop technical methods for cross-functional process improvement, including process maps, input/output definitions, and execution plans.
- Configure and control the project GIS environment in accordance with project exchange information requirements.
- Support sustainability initiatives by creating story maps and tools for stakeholder engagement.
- Carry out quality assurance checks on suppliers to confirm their deliverables meet GIS requirements under the EIR.
Experience and education
A degree in Geography, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required. The role asks for 5 to 10 years of GIS experience, and an engineering degree from an accredited university with 5 to 10 years of relevant design management experience on infrastructure projects is also referenced.
Knowledge and skills
You should be familiar with GIS workflows, related software, automation methods, and the broader BIM/GIS environment. Strong communication and problem-solving ability are important, as is the capacity to manage changing priorities and work through ambiguity.
Tools and technology
Hands-on experience with ESRI products, including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, and ArcGIS Online, is important. Exposure to GlobalMapper, FME, Geographic Calculator, MicroStation, AutoCAD, scripting, programming, GIS web services, and web-based GIS solutions is also expected.
