Job description

Role overview

This position sits within the Corporate Talent Management team in Weatherford’s Global Human Resources function in the UAE. Based in Technopark, Dubai, the role will lead NextGen recruitment and training efforts while coordinating all product line activities. It works closely with HR leadership, global and Geozone HR business partners, and other HR centers of excellence, acting as a specialist in talent acquisition and talent management practices across MENA, with a strong focus on NextGen programs.

The role also requires a strong understanding of the organization’s talent priorities so that people strategies support business needs across the enterprise, especially in the MENA region. Travel is expected at a level of around 20–30% across MENA.

Responsibilities

  • Drive NextGen programs aimed at sourcing and developing engineers for the oil and gas sector.
  • Coordinate and oversee all product line-related activities so they stay aligned with business goals and hiring needs.
  • Build and execute recruitment plans to attract high-caliber engineering professionals.
  • Develop and run training initiatives that help new joiners reach competency faster.
  • Track and improve important performance measures such as training completion, time to competency, and stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Act as the Performance Management Champion by facilitating training sessions, calibration discussions, and advisory meetings.
  • Support talent identification, succession planning, and the consolidation of development plans.
  • Assess workforce demand against the available talent market across MENA.
  • Analyze data and present meaningful insights and metrics to leadership and other stakeholders.
  • Design and deliver talent programs that support the wider enterprise.
  • Work with HR, Global Talent Acquisition, and Talent Development to shape recruitment and retention approaches.
  • Build a workplace culture that helps attract and keep strong performers.
  • Promote development opportunities for engineers through technical career pathways.
  • Demonstrate leadership, ethical conduct, and compliance with Weatherford standards at all times.
  • Support Weatherford’s HR strategy with an emphasis on engineering talent growth.
  • Help shape and communicate a clear vision and purpose across the organization.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering is mandatory.
  • At least 4 years of field experience in the oilfield services industry is required.
  • Strong working knowledge of the OFS industry and product lines is necessary.
  • Advanced use of Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel and PowerPoint, is expected.
  • Prior exposure to projects involving recruitment and technical training for engineers is preferred by the role context.
  • Good understanding of career paths within the oil and gas industry.
  • Experience in or exposure to the oil and gas field environment.
  • Strong project management abilities with the use of technology for collaboration.
  • Capacity to work independently as well as effectively in global cross-functional teams.
  • Confident judgement and the ability to influence stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proactive, analytical, accountable, and quick to learn.
  • Strong stakeholder management capabilities.

Additional information

The position is based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and involves occasional regional travel across MENA. The opportunity is full-time and onsite.
