Role Overview
This is a senior leadership opportunity with a global industrial technology company that operates internationally. The General Manager, Americas will oversee commercial activity across North America, Canada, Mexico, and selected South American markets. The role calls for someone who can shape regional growth, deliver divisional priorities, and guide sales teams across a complex multi-country environment.
The right candidate will combine strategic thinking, operational discipline, and a strong record of building capable teams and producing commercial results in industrial or technical sectors.
Strategic and Operational Leadership
- Help shape regional business plans, budgets, and the execution of growth initiatives.
- Drive commercial programs that support wider divisional goals.
- Increase revenue and profitability throughout the region while owning financial outcomes.
- Track performance metrics and spot ways to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and business impact.
- Maintain reliable forecasting, reporting, and budget control, and suggest improvements where needed.
- Encourage consistent use of processes, tools, and best practices across regional teams.
Team Leadership and Development
- Lead, mentor, and grow a distributed group of sales leaders and commercial professionals.
- Support hiring, succession planning, performance management, and employee development efforts.
- Build a culture centered on accountability, teamwork, and ongoing improvement.
- Develop sales capability through strong leadership, coaching, and day-to-day support.
Sales and Business Development
- Identify new market opportunities that support both immediate and long-range growth.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with major customers and strategic partners across the region.
- Keep close watch on market trends, competitor moves, and changing customer needs to guide commercial strategy.
- Work with cross-functional groups such as product development, marketing, and operations to support growth and customer outcomes.
- Represent the organization at trade events, customer meetings, and leadership forums when required.
Qualifications
Applicants should hold a bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related area. An advanced degree is preferred.
Experience should include leading sales efforts in industrial, manufacturing, mechatronics, or other technical settings. The role also requires a proven history of managing regional or international sales teams, including sales managers and cross-functional stakeholders.
Additional expectations include a solid understanding of market dynamics, commercial strategy development, and hands-on use of CRM platforms and ERP systems such as SAP, AS400, or similar tools. Candidates must also be willing and able to travel internationally as needed.
