Role Overview
As a Production Worker in Calgary, Alberta, you will contribute to the manufacture of corrugated boxes in a clean, safe production environment. This role is centered on keeping daily output on track, meeting quality standards, and making sure production specifications are followed accurately.
What You’ll Do
- Support the team in producing corrugated packaging products efficiently and safely each day.
- Follow order instructions and any special production requirements with close attention to detail.
- Carry out quality inspections in line with company production standards.
- Handle physically demanding tasks such as climbing stairs, lifting, pushing, pulling, stacking, squatting, and moving boxes through production equipment.
- Work rotating 8-hour shifts across days, afternoons, and midnights as scheduled.
- Operate in hot conditions during summer months when required by the work environment.
Shift Schedule
The position follows a weekly rotating shift pattern with 8-hour shifts. Shift timings include midnight shift from 11:00 pm to 7:00 am, afternoon shift from 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm, and day shift from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm.
Screening and Job Conditions
Applicants must be able to pass a criminal background check, pre-employment medical evaluation, and a clear drug test. A further drug screening will be completed after a conditional offer is made and before employment begins.
Compensation and Benefits
The starting wage is $29.17 per hour, with progression up to $31.86 per hour as experience and performance grow. In addition, the role includes shift premiums of $0.90 per hour for afternoon shifts and $1.35 per hour for midnight shifts. Benefits are available upon hire, and pension coverage begins after six months of employment. The company also provides training on different machines and promotes a workplace built around health, safety, sustainability, and inclusion.
