About the Team
Aruma’s commercial cleaning operation delivers a broad range of services, including office cleaning, window cleaning, and exterior cleaning for sites such as offices and retail spaces. The team helps businesses maintain clean, presentable environments for staff and customers. Services can be arranged as a one-off clean or on a recurring schedule such as daily, weekly, or monthly visits, tailored to client requirements. The operation is built on professionalism, experience, reliability, and trust.
About the Role
This position sits within a lively, inclusive enterprise that creates employment opportunities for people with disability alongside skilled team members. As a General Hand, you will support team leaders and assist supported employees with cleaning and general maintenance across a variety of commercial client sites. The role contributes to better outcomes for people with disability while helping the business meet its operational and financial objectives.
Key Duties
- Carry out general cleaning tasks such as vacuuming, mopping, dusting, bathroom and toilet cleaning, laundry, and washing walls and windows.
- Support light domestic upkeep duties as needed.
- Work under the guidance of team leaders while helping foster positive team relationships aligned with Aruma’s values.
- Assist supported employees in building new capabilities and progressing toward their work goals.
- Complete tasks according to directions from supervisors and team leaders, as well as contract requirements and scheduled timeframes.
What You Need
- A strong level of physical fitness to manage the manual handling and environmental demands of the job.
- The ability to work on your own or collaborate effectively with others.
- Good spoken and written communication skills, including knowing when to escalate concerns.
- Practical technical ability to help solve maintenance and site-related issues.
- A current driver’s licence, minimum P2.
- Either hold, or be prepared to obtain, an NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- Either hold, or be prepared to obtain, a Working With Children Check.
