Company overview
Everlast Gyms is focused on helping members go further, train harder, and reach stronger results. Its modern fitness clubs are designed around a community that values both quality equipment and the overall gym experience. Keeping every area clean and safe is a core part of that experience.
Role summary
As a General Assistant on the cleaning team, you will help maintain a high standard of hygiene across the facility. Your work will keep workout spaces, changing areas, and shared zones clean, safe, and welcoming for members. This position is for 20 hours per week and suits someone who is careful, dependable, and motivated by improving the customer experience.
Key duties
- Clean all gym areas thoroughly, including floors, exercise equipment, studios, locker rooms, showers, and shared spaces.
- Disinfect and sanitise surfaces to support a safe, hygienic environment.
- Collect waste, replace bin liners, and follow proper disposal routines.
- Check cleaning stock levels, restock supplies, and inform management when items are running low.
- Work with the wider gym team to help deliver a smooth experience for members.
- Flag maintenance issues or repair needs as soon as they are noticed.
- Consistently follow the gym’s standards for cleanliness and safety.
Candidate profile
You should be comfortable working on your own, have a strong eye for detail, and be able to manage your time well. Previous experience in cleaning or janitorial work is helpful but not required, as full training is provided. A basic understanding of cleaning methods, sanitation practices, and safe handling of chemicals is useful, though training can also be given where needed. Good communication and teamwork are important, and you must be available for evenings and weekends to match the gym’s opening hours.
