Role Overview
Jovie is looking for a reliable and caring nanny to provide steady, long-term support for a family in the Johnson City/Jonesborough area. The position is best suited to someone who enjoys forming genuine bonds with children, planning engaging activities, and becoming a trusted part of a family’s routine.
Work Schedule
This role totals 32 hours each week. The expected schedule is:
- Monday: 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm
- Tuesday: 7:00 am to 11:00 am
- Wednesday: 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm
- Thursday: 7:00 am to 11:00 am
- Friday: 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm
- Saturday: 8:00 am to 2:00 pm
If one caregiver cannot cover the full 32-hour schedule, the family is open to having two nannies share the coverage.
What the Family Needs
The family is seeking someone who is warm, self-directed, and comfortable keeping children’s routines on track while helping maintain a calm, safe, and structured home environment. Strong communication, dependability, and the ability to take initiative are important. The role may occasionally include overnight care or schedule changes with advance notice.
Core Duties
- Provide attentive, interactive care for the children
- Organize age-appropriate games and activities
- Prepare simple meals and snacks for the children
- Handle children’s laundry and keep their areas tidy
- Drive the children in a family-provided vehicle
- Support daily routines, structure, and positive growth
- Assist with child-related errands and light organization when needed
Ideal Candidate Profile
The right candidate will have prior experience caring for young children, along with a dependable, organized, and proactive working style. A kind, patient, and nurturing approach is essential, as is the ability to communicate clearly and work independently. CPR and First Aid certification are required, as well as a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Comfort around large dogs is also important. A candidate interested in a long-term placement is preferred.
